12 Reasons You Can’t Trust Obama – His 2014 State of the Union Address

Total

1. The minimum wage

In his fifth State of the Union address, President Barack Obama once again put pressure on Congress to help restore opportunities for more Americans, but only time will tell if he’ll actually follow through on taking positive action himself. Here are 12 points from the State of the Union address that illustrate why we just can’t trust President Obama:

1. The minimum wage

In his address, Obama proposed an executive order to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 and called on Congress to make the increase. However, just last year, Obama had proposed raising the minimum wage to $9.00 by 2015’s end, with no progress so far.

Every one knows that Hollywood will always support the Socialist fka Democratic Party because they are a group of elitists who get paid for pretending to be someone else for a living. 15 are name, I sure they are more. Socialist? Desperate, dude!

  • Sarah Roney Dalton

How Republicans have the nerve to complain of Obama’s lack of progress baffles me. Republicans have steadfastly blocked nearly every one of the mentioned initiatives. What hypocrites!

    • Perth

I’m sure the fact that you did not mentioned how your Socialist party members did the same to President Bush was only a “mistake”. Obama was elected President, he was not appointed Emperor of the US. Socialist, what hypocrites!

oh yea I forgot 40000 factories closed we were losing 750000 jobs a month 2 wars unpaid for 11 trillion in debt the bush crime family had just pulled off the biggest heist in history .Then the blk guy was ELECTED
by a landslide came in and ruined everything

        • onohayo

          I blame Bush.

          • phyllisjmurphy

I have little respect for either party but it is so shallow to keep blaming Bush who doesn’t give a rat’s rear and just shows the democrats and Obama up for their pitiful political ploys of immaturity and ideas for saving our country before another Great Depression hits…I am advising my sons to get out of America!

Benghazi, the IRS, the NSA, the AP, Dinesh D’Souza, sealed records, claims of going to certain schools yet no proof of this or record of him being there, changing Obamacare at whim after it was passed into law, refusing to work with Congress, 900 plus executive orders as a result, high unemployment, stagnated economic growth, aiding to our enemies, alienating our friends and a tricked out birth certificate. A white president would have been impeached by now and hopefully he will be as well. Do you even follow the news?

        • Hard Boiled

oh i see you didnt mention he won by less than 1 million, which is far form a landslide with over 100 million people voting, you also didn’t mention the 3 million elderly who neither wanted a Mormon or a black man that didnt vote at all (this was a fact, not something i made up), and ALL of them republicans, you also didnt mention the ones who are going to prison for voting multiple times, you also didnt mention all the military ballots found in trash bins uncounted, or the states who failed to finish counting their votes before claiming a winner, or the countless voting booths that voted for Obama when Romney was chosen. there was a lot of fraud, and the only ones who consider a landslide are the kool aid drinkers.

          • muriel

Right on Hardboiled- and don’t forget the voting machines that Soros, Obama’s pal and Communist friend- bought in battle ground states-where some districts reported more people voting than the number of actual population, AND SO NOW WE ARE BURDENED WITH A PRESIDENT THAT NEVER, EVER, EVEN RAN A HOT DOG STAND- RUNNING THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, AND FAILING!

          • jhaharris

People that worship Obama should read up on his pal Soros, Soros is one of the worse enemies that America has.

          • JJ truth

That’s a shame. It goes to prove how corrupt the system has become. Time for an overhaul the system needs purging. The political system is beyond repair. That’s so depressing about the voting machines & trashed votes. Why bother voting in the next election since its rigged anyway? The winner is already chosen. Anyway I’d rather vote in a system that has no electoral college.

          • CypressSteve

If you are saying that people did not vote for Romney because he is Mormon, or for Obama because he is (half) black, I submit to you that their bigotry should disqualify them from voting, anyway. They had the chance to vote for a proven executive leader that fixes everything he touches but, by not voting, they effectively voted for the guy who had NO executive experience and breaks everything he bumps into. They deserve everything that is happening to them (and the rest of us).

          • tony trujillo

He (Mittens) should start fixing Stapels. Isn’t that the company that is his claim to fame?

What the heck! Why haven’t we all gotten together to prove these things have happened?
will we just sit back and allow our country to dissolve into a 3rd world dictatorship?

it wasn’t a landslide, it was very close and yes since the 90s jobs have been lost overseas. so much so that americans now live in india and china and mexico.

while bush spent his ass off and wiped out the gains that occurred under clinton obama has only increased the spending and done nothing about needed cuts. he has also not given one bone to the republicans. politics is a two way street. Bush got the dems on board in Iraq-remember-they all voted for it. To bad, and I said this in 2002, that no revenue stream was put in place to pay for OIF or OEF. Bush’s big mistake was to keep ramming through special appropriations that were outside the budget-they were using credit cards with no payment required. That was the start, spending with no revenue stream to pay for it. But to keep claiming the right is stopping the left is silly. BOth are to blame but the president is responsible. It is his job to get things done and he has only raised taxes and spent, he is not doing what the right side wants-cut spending. amazing how both sides only spew hate and mean personal attacks are common. No more negotiation or give and take. No more gentlemanly demeanor, just mean spirited hateful comments that further polarize people and keep a stalemate in place. We teach our children to be better and they will be the ones to deal with these problems.

        • Mary Smith

Obama’s a Socialist? ? Duhhh!!! Well of course he is ! He’s the President of a First World Country. Do you like the U.S. Military, the largest ‘socialist’ organization on the face of the Earth? How about the Veteran’s Administration, the Police Dept, The Fire Dept., Public schools, Public libraries, Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, the Interstate Highway system, safety standards for food and water? ? All examples of “Socialism” my friend. I’d bet my bank account and life on this premise: YOU AND EVERY OTHER AMERICAN ABSOLUTELY LOVE SOCIALISM. Why? Because the United States is a 1st World country…not a ‘developing nation’, Military Dictatorship, Third World country or Oiigarchy. The very hallmark of being a FIRST WORLD COUNTRY is….guess what?,……………………..SOCIALISM ! !. So why don’t you EDUCATE yourself buddy and stop making stupid comments?

        • bdjb123

          so·cial·ism
          noun ˈsō-shə-ˌli-zəm

: a way of organizing a society in which major industries are owned and controlled by the government rather than by individual people and companies

****Social Programs and Government run departments (like Police Departments, US Military, etc.) are not Socialism. Currently, most industries (Car, banks, electric company, etc.) in the US are not owned by the government. Although, the US government does have some control on these industries by regulations.

          • Bill Scallan

No little one, you are describing Communism with a capital “C”.
AND there are differences between communism in various countries as well as in Socialist countries. Do you really believe that all socialistic programs are evil and bad? Get a life!

          • cgalindo

            nanny country!!!!

So, how is Obama a Socialist, given your definition?

          • Tzip

Oh, my gosh, read a paper already, would ya? Ever heard of Obamacare? How about Common Core? Do you even own a television set?

          • Jonathan Rutledge

ObamaCare or for the educated The Affordable Health Care Act which seems awfully familiar to a law about Car insurance that republicans passed that requires a person to make a purchase from a insurance company or face punisment

          • Trace Smith

Yes, yes, keep on growing. Both sides are bad and laughing at the Left/Right Dichotomy, and laughing at us for falling for it. Compare every law to the Constitution, and if it fails muster it’s not law. SCOTUS is bought and paid for too. Clarence Thomas held a high position at Monsanto, then guaranteed them effective control over the food supply with a vote in the Supreme Court, which he should have recused himself from. BOTH SIDES ARE CORRUPT..UPT..UPT. WAKE UP AND TAKE FREEDOM BACK INTO YOUR OWN HANDS.. ANDS. ANDS. Hope that was loud enough for everyone to hear.

          • Diane Robinson

Thank goodness for regulations. If corporations had it their way all of our rivers would be on fire. So naive and shortsighted.

          • johnnydavis1

Under Obama, the government purchased large stakes in GM / Chrysler. Obama (through cronyism) has invested in (using our tax dollars) and colluded with GE, Solyndra, investment firms, and other Obama contributors. The Obama administration also works favors for his selected favorites by imposing regulations that prevent small start ups from competing with these government sponsored monopolies. Yes, Obama is a socialist.

      • Jane

yes, and don’t forget he was elected twice after obamacare went into law.voters voted him in 2 times not just once.

    • Brian Whiting

Did they block Obamacare? NOPE. Is Obamacare a disaster like WE ALL KNEW? YES!

      • Philinburb

        4 million plus strong!

        • Delguy64

          5 million.

      • jjkrjw

Not one republican senator voted for obamacare. The senate is controlled by democrats. They are the ones responsible for the disaster called obamacare.

        • Jane

its not disastrous for the people whose on it that was uninsured, like people who had pre conditions, like disabled kids. a lot is good abt it, fix what is not and stop being dumb.

          • Mary Smith

You have not listened to the news lately. Children and pre existing conditions are NOT covered. If they are, they will charge you $$$$ for pre existing conditions! Disabled children are NOT being treated fair and some not treated at all. New health care is trying to drop children who have expensive care from their coverage.

          • KnowbodyXXX

What a crock, Mary Smith, of course children and adults with pre-existing conditions are now getting coverage previously unavailable to them. There isn’t one single example of any disabled child getting less or no care because of Obamacare. What article did you read this from? Children have always been dropped if their care is too expensive which is one of the things Obamacare addressess. The only thing that’s different is the Obamacare gives these children an option after their insurer drops them.

          • babshill

Have you signed up for a plan? Guess what? Need rehab? How does 14 days sound? Need more? Tough! Having pre-existing conditions doesn’t mean you get you the coverage you need — Yes, you can pay for a plan, but “coverage” is just a facade!

          • Not republican or democrat

Jane, only 1.5 million that signed up didn’t have insurance before the this debacle was rolled out. There are 42 million still without. The other 6.5 million people that it was force fed to had plans that suited their situations better, with lower deductibles and oh yeah, they still had “their doctor”. By the way weren’t we all supposed to save $2500 a year? Oh well I guess I will cut back on my cable like Barry suggests while he and Moochella continue their around the world tour /vacation.

        • maasman69

          You don’t have a clue.

      • Diane Robinson

Republicans certainly tried, but are not successful in much of anything these days. Why not? Because their agenda does not represent most Americans, and is often riddled with delusion and lies– such as the Affordable Care Act not being successful. It certainly is a step in the right direction, and would have been much better had Obama’s administration been able to go forward with a universal health care model instead of being forced by conservatives to involve private insurance- THAT would be the ONLY failure. Its too bad for so much ignorance and hatred on part of repub conservatives– a sign that FOX media is achieving their goal. Please wake up.

        • johnnydavis1

You obviously belong to the group of low information voters. The ACA is an unmitigated disaster. It has caused pain and suffering for millions of Americans.

          • Jane

no it isn’t, I know a lot of new people on it that is very happy with the plan and cost., its caused glory for sick folks who now can get ins and for parents of disabled kids who were completely shut out of ins.

          • JJ truth

Disabled children have always qualified for SSI and medicaid when pvt. insurance didn’t fully cover them.

          • Mary Smith

I know several people who can not afford the new health care cost. Their cost went from $200 a month to over $500 a month with $5,000 deductable! Who can afford this but the very rich? I also know many who have lost their jobs because businesses can not afford to cover employees at these cost. Many people with illnesses are being refused care on the obamacare insurance. I know those people too. Many of them disabled children.

          • maasman69

Yes, just like Social Security and Medicare in their first three months of existence.

        • Natalie Jarnstedt

Didn’t Einstein say that if you keep doing the same thing over and over, yet expect different results, that’s i-n-s-a-n-i-t-y? Well, what about the House trying to repeal Obamacare….AND if, just if, the Senate also voted to repeal, does anyone in their right mind think that President Obama would NOT veto????

        • CircleUranus

You are ignorant. Every poll taken matches most Americans with conservative values. I love it how you brainwashed socialists like to blame FOX NEWS for your troubles: Here’s a news flash – FOX wouldn’t be popular if the majority of people didn’t like them…. what’s that tell you? FOX crushes all the other cable networks combined in ratings for a reason.

Most small business owners I know have all said they will not hire new employees if it means it will take them over the threshold to fall into the regulatory control of Obamacare.

When a loved one dies because they got kicked off their perfectly acceptable health-care plan from their employer, and can’t afford the double and triple costs of Obamacare’s deductible…. then I’d be curious how your story will change to support your dictator.

          • Ty

sorry bud, but it is you who are ignorant.

          • Jane

every poll I see want it fixed not thrown out. many folks are on it and is happy with it, they would have to throw many off it and give it back to ins co’s who were not so great with ins.

          • Mark

Jane my friend, the problem with the ins companies was state government interference with the free market. Replacing it with fascist concepts of government is not a fix, it’s a disaster. Yes I said the F word and if you had half a brain you would read some books about fascism and see that it fits the democrats ideas of government to a tee. My conversion to conservatism came as the result of historical studies not watching news programs. Fascism was invented by our first socialist president Woodrow Wilson. It was parroted by Mussolini and Hitler and was named “fascism” by Mussolini. Read some books and quit posting your ignorance of the truth.

Just because they didn’t vote for it, doesn’t mean they didn’t hatch it and vote against anything better, then not vote for it in the end. Do your homework. Just because your mouth moves and sound comes out, don’t think that you’re saying anything that is factual.

It never fails to amaze me when leftists like Diane continually claim that conservatives are duped. I was a Dem for many years and then I grew a brain and started questioning everything. I immediately realized that socialism was intellectually repugnant and that I was actually a constitutional conservative. You are the one who is asleep Diane. The reason you are a Dem is because you fall prey to emotional arguments and ignore intellectual ones.

ACA isn’t about healthcare, it has been implemented to gain control over every aspect of an American’s life. You are now officially a state slave.

      • maasman69

Are you aware “Obamacare is a Republican plan, just like Romneycare was, in which Democrats compromised with Republicans (essentially giving away the farm) such that a public option was off the table, giving private insurance companies a boondoggle, and then Republicans….everyone of them…voted against it? Are you aware of this? It was hatched by the Heritage Foundation and was highly touted by the likes of Newt Gingrich. So, you have a Republican plan. The only problem is, Obama is president and they can’t support anything he would support.

So, what’s the Republican plan that they would replace ACA with?

        • NDwight

maasman – A “national” program like Romneycare is not constitutional. The Health care is not attributed to be something handled by the Federal Government, it is a State issue which is where Romneycare was legally enacted.

    • Philinburb

      Right on Sarah!

    • Snookhookr

The first two years of the Obama presidency he had a Democrat majority in the senate and congress. They gave us a failed $1,000,000,000,000 stimulus and a failed socialist health care system. With all of the freedoms that are being taken away by this administration HOW IN THE HELL can you still support this tyrant? You are what’s wrong with America.

      • Bodine666

With the repub obstruction it takes 60 votes to get anything done in the Senate. The repubs whinned and cried and did everything they could to keep Sen Al Franken from being seated. He was finally sworn in — in August, the same month Sen. Kennedy died so, no, they never had a majority required in the Senate.

Curious that every economist, other than right-wingnuts, said the stimulus was a success. It wasn’t the amount you pulled out of somewhere and a huge amount has been repaid, with interest, to the Treasury.

Just wondering, how can you claim the Affordable Care Act is a failure? The insurance part was just implemented this year, a few months ago. What has failed? Keeping children on their parents insurance until 26? No denials for pre-existing conditions? No substandard policies? No lifetime caps? No cancelling policies for major illness? FYI: now that people can see what it is all about the vast majority of Americans want it. Every so-called horror story repubs push has been proven to be outright lies. Most of the people in the ads are PAID actors or wingnut activists. While we’re at it, please explain how the ACA is socialist in any way. It’s no different from Social Security or Medicare. Do you also proclaim them failures?

Please, list some of my freedoms that have been taken away. I see repubs make this claim constantly but I’ve yet to find one that can actually list a single freedom taken away. BTW, you need to go back to school and take a few civics classes. The President does not have the unfettered power repubs claim he does. He cannot spend money, that is Congress. He can’t pass laws, that is Congress. He has issued about half the EOs that dubya did. His vacation days are less than 20% the number dubya took and your taxes are lower than they were under dubya.

What’s wrong with America? The biggest problem is the non-stop lies told by the CONs, repubs, and the wingnut TV network, False News, combined with the huge number of uneducated, racist, hate-filled Tea Baggers that are being led around by the nose by lying repubs . It seems that no matter how many times a lie is exposed the baggers just double down, cover their ears, and start chanting to themselves, “it’s not a lie, it’s not a lie, it’s not a lie!” It’s better to talk to a brick wall, at least a brick wall won’t start shouting every derogatory insult it can invent the way tea-baggers do. It is simply beyond comprehension how CONs and baggers keep falling for the same lies over and over and over again.

Want to make America better? Start by thinking for yourself instead of blindly parroting everything that comes from wingnut pundits without question.

        • johnnydavis1

You must live in a GOP state where your Gov refused expansion. Millions of ppl lost policies that were junk policies and that’s why the insurance companies had to cancel policies that didn’t comply with the minimum stipulations pursuant to the ACA. It was Bly made easier for some of the ins. Co. To say because of the ACA we have to cancel your “Junk” policy.

Obama is a commie. Simple as that. He was tutored under an American Terrorist, Saul Alinsky, and makes every move by Alinsky’s playbook for destroying America: Rules for Radicals. Combine that with his racist pastor of many years; The Reverend Jerremiah Wright…. and there you have it: An American Hating commie bent on dismantling America’s greatness so that we are ‘equal’ with the struggling likes of Spain, and Europe in general.

Obama is a stain on America’s blue dress.

You believe what you are spoon fed to believe. I see my taxes going up, fees increasing, insurance premiums increasing, everything but my salary. the ACA is a total wreck. I tried to get on and when finally able to get quotes I was aghast at the increases in cost and deductibles all while my coverages were reduced. Yep it sucks. No more dental check ups, pay for the physicals. Eye exams will now cost money. How about the house values. The crazy appreciation began with Clinton, bush did nothing and Obama ignored it. then when the values dropped 25-30 % the governments recalculated the way the tax property owners and my prop tax went up. How about the license fees -yep min fee in MN for an old car went from 35 to 52 bucks. Drivers licenses up, fish lic up, special vehicle registrations up-no improvement in roads or infrastructure. the ultra rich? are they paying more hahahaha no, but I am. The new ACA is now a new tax-just not called that. What needed to be addressed was the preexisting conditions and portability issues as well as the cost. Making another government entity that further burdens the taxpayers is a waste. The bailouts -? are you sure. Bush gave GM 17 billion, Obama 41 billion, they then filled bankruptcy and have paid back all but 10 billion what a deal. How about Solyndra-now there was a great investment millions lost. And yes the dems did have a majority but that should not matter. Politics is a 2 way street. The big issue the repubs wanted was spending cuts-Obama gave none. The repubs gave him the ACA and his spending and the crazy allowance on the debt ceiling but the two way street, that has marked forward progress for years, has ended. BOTH sides dig in their heels. BOTH are to blame but the ones in charge are responsible -and they are democrats-for now.

I sat through the Al Franken insanity, I even met and talked to him. Seems smart and says the right stuff but that changed upon getting into office. Mr Franken said, and I am paraphrasing, that the election was very close (I think it was 22 votes) so I have to listen to both sides and consider both points of view. He has always voted with Mr. Obama -every issue. Never once did he vote or even lean in any other direction. I have not seen him ever consider the right side on anything yet his comments were misleading to say the least.

The sad fact now is the hard decisions must be made-the sooner the better. the tax system is broke. Rich get richer and poor get placated while those in the middle get to pay. The social programs keep increasing, I see fraud daily with out remorse or consequence. I pay more and get less and wonder how much worse it will become. While I love living in the US I have even contemplated moving elsewhere as I fear my retirement in 10 years will not keep up with the spending and cuts in services. As far as the next generation, the decisions they will have to make will have to be cruel to all. we are now 18 trillion in debt- thats 18 million million-crazy. All the while silly brainwashed democrats and republicans toss vitriolic verbal spears at each other thinking they will convince someone on the other side to see their way. Obama is in charge-his call his fault. The next guy-it will be his call and his fault. Get something done and stop whining about why you can’t.

          • Bart Gower

If you fact check you will see that the Dems did not actually have a majority the first two years of Obamas presidency. Bodine666 has it right. I’m thinking you watch Faux News, talk about spoon fed.

They got everything they wanted then voted against it based on their obstructionist platform touted by McConnel.

Hookr–Nice GOP spin. When Pres. Obama came into office Wall St. and the economy was in free-fall with 700,000+ jobs being lost monthly and 880,000 jobs lost in 1/09 when the DOW was 6,949 now over 16,000 an all-time record with all-time record corporate profits.
The TARP II bank bailouts worked and have since been repaid with $18 billion in interest or enough to cover any auto industry bailouts which were also successful created 330,000 plus saved another million auto industry dependent jobs. The ARRA at $700 billion were also successful and helped created eight million jobs with 49 straight months of job growth compared to the massive losses under the deregulated banks, greedy, corrupt rich banksters whose subprime mortgage fraud took down Wall St., the job-creating housing industry/market, and our economy. The subsequent Bush Great Recession took $15 TRILLION in Americans’ household wealth, 4+ million jobs, 9+ million homes underwater, and 9 million jobs on top of the five million manufacturing jobs under Bush-Cheney shipped overseas or to Mexico. The ACA is creating new healthcare jobs while increasing healthcare coverage and raising the bar for insurance coverage of all Americans.
What have the GOP done since 2010 except block an all-time record of 430+ bills including many job and economic stimulus bills? What can one say about working class GOPeons who still blindly support the GOP which has never represented them? Think the GOP would have forced the banks to pay tens of billions in fines?
Attend college, serve in the military, serve your God or country in any way, wimpy, bigot?

BHO did not save autoworkers jobs, he saved the UAW, the people would have consumed as many vehicles, which would have been built by non union plants in the Southeast US, and UAW thugs would have had to simply move south and actually work. All the smaller companies that support the big 3 would had their products and services utilized by the increase in demand from other auto manufacturers.

      • KnowbodyXXX

The ACA is doing fine and by independent estimates by 2017 30 – 35 million more Americans will have health insurance, thus leaving a mere 12 million Americans w/o health insurance. Their never was any death panel, these are private insurance firms offering a product to Americans… No more junk insurance plans, no rejecting individuals with a pre-existing condition, no lifetime caps, etc.

    • johnnydavis1

Blocking Obama’s destruction of the country is essential to progress.

    • the_bananaboat

Since nearly every one of Obama’s initiatives is bad for the country it’s only natural that the Republicans blocked him. This shouldn’t be all that baffling. Bad ideas are just that, bad. You cant call it progress if it’s regressive in nature.

    • 2004ranger

dems had ful control of both houses the first two years. The republicans didn’t block everything, they did become stoic when NOTHING- yet not one of their wishes were ever entertained by Mr Obama. No they did not want the ACA which is a real problem as it is not working out at all, but the reality is that no spending cuts were instigated, as desired by the republicans, but the tax increases were put in place. Unfortunately the tax increases have not been put in place for the “ultra rich” but have pummeled the middle class with a cessation of deductions, modest increases (mine are 2%) and a barrage of new fees passed down from the federal government to the states and counties and cities. I could care less if a dem or a rep is president or in congress but “bones” have been thrown to the right side of the isle. The government shut down demonstrated the frustration and while idiotic it still resulted in even more waste of money all with no increase in services to taxpayers. Mr Obama has to begin making the really hard decisions and that is which programs need to be cut. Which government jobs need to be eliminated and which wars to stop fighting. He has plenty of time for the “noisy” issues that affect few people, he needs to pay attention to the important ones that affect the country as a whole. Create jobs by protecting them would be nice. Minimum wage? The cost will be passed on and will result in fewer entry jobs. Making a min wage to raise a family? Will have to be 20 plus $$, 10 bucks maybe in the boonies where you can rent a trailer. But since the cash for clunkers program there are no cheap cars left. Yep -go try to buy a 10 year old clunker with 200K miles. You will spend 2500 dollars for it, no more 500 specials. How about unemployment forever? So the receivers will not contribute a penny into their retirement and continue to become more unattractive to employers. You want to hire someone and pay them 60 to 80K a year knowing that they have not had any experience for the last two years? Or worse have to pay 1/2 the unemployment when you fire them (thats what business have to pay for the 99 weeks).

the stimulus pkgs? Obama spent 750 billion and got much back. Like GM bailout -it only cost taxpayers 10 billion of the 41 billion. It all went to the big wigs when GM went bankrupt. Maybe the Solyndra millions were well intentioned but the results only cost taxpayers. I really just want a president that will do something worthwhile, someone that leads and doesn’t whine about the faults of previous guys. Someone that will make tough decisions that will benefit the nation and not based on an ideology or dream.

I pray and regret the mess the next generation has to clean up. I worry about my son and his future success. And I am embarrassed by the “leaders” we keep putting in office that are selfish and inept that put forth programs that are more troublesome then helpful.

    • Steve Lange

      I agree

    • JJ truth

That’s because the direction he’s going into is counter productive to progress. He’s not innovating in industry, technology, learning, transportation etc. areas which are key to real life changing positive progress. He’s dead on energy research & energy production, along with rebuilding the grid & infrastructure. His answer to problems is expanding social programs why not teach some of the poor small enterprise and or community development? He has to enforce immigration laws & immigration reform. The United States has limited resources and can’t afford to take care of the world. Illegals must go. They aren’t entitled to tax payer funded social net programs. He has to take action against companies employing them & get Americans back to work. He’s starting too many wars & not creating new trade partners & allies. He’s only making more enemies? About to begin WW3 over Ukraine? Why is America still enforcing and 1818 trade embargo against Haiti? Illegals are destroying the safety net & pushing the nation behind. Deal with this issue once & for all. Obama hasn’t. Transportation in this country is light years behind the rest of the industrialized world. Upgrade. The U.S Government has to lead the way investing in all kinds of research & patents. The U.S is behind. Get the BRAC reform finished its been 24 yrs too long! There are other areas that need reform, and regulation such food production & medicines. Genetically altered foods must be labeled or banned altogether since they are dangerous. Dangerous medicines are being brought to market w/o regulation. There are also uncharted areas for progress like maybe fully exploring the oceans which haven’t been mapped. There maybe cures to diseases found there and more. Congress & the Senate do not have an obligation to blindly follow the president. They represent people from various sections of the nation not all should ever lock step into one way of thinking. President has to think, compromise & come up with solutions. This is why he has a staff. Also if a president is moving into new areas with new projects that benefit all people(like better air travel & transportation) rather than catering to special interests there would be support. Democrats waste time social engineering which = trying to run everybody’s life down to the details. When you do this don’t expect support. He may have won the white house but not everybody in this nation shares the ideas of his political party. The elected representatives in the congress & senate attest to this reality. Bulldozing people because you won the election doesn’t work and never will get people on your side. Obama hasn’t solved the recession which has become a depression, nor did he hand out jail sentences to those who manipulated & gamed the financial system to destruction. Republicans can’t stop him from doing this. Nor has he rescinded all the tax breaks to corporate crooks which can be done by executive order & through the IRS & justice department instead of spying on the Tea Party & churches. Obama & the democrats have been sub-par and democrat voters refuse to accept the truth. Eight wasted years will be Obama’s presidency. Gay marriage is not great progress but the sign of social & moral decay bringing the downfall of the nation. Sorry democrats but you are out of touch with reality. From a politically independent voter.

        • Michael Todd

If by “my” party you mean the Republicans who are becoming more like the Democrats, then no, that’s not my party. The fact that our society has changed and cast off its biblical moorings, even if it’s a majority, does not justify it.

    • CuriouslyM

people aren’t as stupid as many GOP TPartiers seem to think they are. They bank on people believing their twisted stories and fortunately they are being exposed for what a lot of them really stand for. It isn’t for the majority , that is for sure. Come on people… these extremists are more like a darn cult and I say that as a Christian myself.

  • PsyDtoBe

These are not “reasons not to trust Obama”…they are reasons why the Republicans in Congress should be kicked to the curb. Every one of these are things President Obama has tried to get done and which Congress has stopped-regardless of whether or not these are things their constituents want.

What planet do you people live on?

The Liberals are merely sheep who believe the propaganda being spewed by this incompetent in The White House. He is surrounded by socialist advisors, like Jarrett, who want to bring the US to it’s knees. Let them rant on with their ignorant excuses – 2016 can’t come soon enough. We will be there to cheer as the misfit Obama’s fly away from the trashed White House. Think of how much the taxpayers will save with Michelle and her lavish spending habits GONE

    • CuriouslyM

That is right! Because the republicans made a well publicized pack to sabotage anything and everything Obama attempts to get accomplished during his presidency. The average person, isn’t as stupid as some of those republicans out there seem to think they are. Get rid of the extremists in government and allow 1 million for each candidate to run for any office in the future and I think we would get a good idea how well a candidate manages a budget and how resourceful they can be with money . It gives me a stomach ache to think about how quickly these packs are able to raise millions… JUST to get their candidate elected. But lets face it.. it isn’t fair to the average citizen out there because they are the rich ones putting up the money. Its BIG business wanting to keep their big tax breaks intact so they will do anything to elect the person who will make that happen. Don’t tell me Republicans are NOT for big government. The heck they aren’t. If they don’t get the republicans in there to protect all those precious tax breaks for the rich, then OMG.. the rich might not make as many millions every year as they do now. Big business is not for middle class. They get all the big tax breaks and get richer. Then they take our jobs away and send them overseas and make even more millions.. and hide all their money overseas and where does that leave the US middle class. Out of jobs and harder and harder to take care of ourselves. It’s all crap.

      • johnnydavis1

Well publicized? Where? On Saturday Night Live?

      • 2004ranger

they are both for big business. where are all the millions in taxes Mr Obama was going to collect from the billionaires? They got around it. Mr Obama has spent and keeps spending as well as increasing taxes for the middle class. He espouses support for the poor commoners in the US, but if you don’t sign up for his insurance plan you will be fined! He also got rid of all the cheap cars via cash for clunkers. Go ahead and find me a $500 car now. Try 5000 bucks. I got the intent to help the poor or less fortunate. Also got the crap about conservatives for big business. But the left is also for big business and is being paid off by them-they just hide it. All these guys are monetary puppets and the rich own them and use them. Obama is and has been responsible-he is in charge-his deal. I think his biggest problem is his staff. They come up with these ideas but are unable to think past the first level. For example the ACA. Are you kidding me? you make it a law and then people cannot sign up or even log in to sign up? That is below amateur class. That one act alone demonstrates his staffs’ failure and runs across every decision and policy Mr Obama makes. It is sad as the americans are the ones suffering and americans deserve better. Get some people that can analyze past the first level, how about making the tax system easy and simple. How about stopping fraud in government agencies and the welfare system. Maybe curbing the incessant defense spending. Would it be possible the eliminate government agencies that do nothing for citizens -what does the department of education do at the federal level? How about improving the “TSA” experience at the airports? Maybe allow foreigners to work in the US easier and if breaking the law you can’t come back. Stop making excuses for illegal aliens that are breaking the law just coming here-If I break the law I go to jail or get fined why are they exempt? Lots of problems that need to be solved. Many that are really important and some not so much. How about spending the most time on the biggest problems and not so much time flying around the vacationing.

Shoot! Democrats aren’t even hiding any more! It was on the news that a billionaire oil tycoon was donating $100,000,000.00 to democratic campaigns for 2014 not to vote for the pipeline! That would put thousands of people to work and possibly lower gas prices.

          • Lloyd A Brodnax

The XL Keystone pipeline isn’t worth the risk of Tar Sands detrimental effect on safe drinking water sites that those communities rely on, nor will the USA benefit from any of these Tar Sans as this is all for Export, nor is it worth the measly several thousand temp jobs, nor is it worth destroying our environment, and it will not lower our gas prices, as again these Tar Sands will be exported. The aforementioned is fact verifiable, please do your own independent research–it won’t hurt.

      • Trace Smith

1 million will get you 10 seconds during the Super Bowl. Corporations are not people they are entities. We should make a law that any citizen living here or our territories, or serving on foreign soil may donate to campaigns in any amount, provided it’s provably from a personal bank account or the like, and any candidate who provably receives foreign donations is automatically disqualified, and charged with treason.

    • BishopLenBrennan

You mean like Obamacare, granting amnesty to so-called “Dreamers” and a Trillion Dollar Stimulus? Go drink so more Kool-Aid!

  • jeanne40

I hope these people speak out for the Republicans. Obama is a Communist, Socialist, Liar, Democrat, and needs no help in disliking him. People were duped into voting for him. He is the worst President ever. His wife is no better.

    • Philinburb

Still having problems with that black president thing there jeanne40?

      • CypressSteve

What is it with the retreat to a charge of “racism” every time someone expresses displeasure with Obama and his policies? If someone doesn’t like Romney or his policies, do they hate white people? Or is this just something convenient that people jump to when it becomes impossible to justify weakness and incompetence?

    • coneyislandbaby11224

The Stock Market is at all time historic highs. Corporate profits have never been higher. So where is the Socialism? Oh. It’s in your delusional paranoid head. I see.

      • demcrack

        how about 17 trillion in debt, record numbers on gov’t assistance? Single payer HC? Wet dream for the head c o m m i e o b a m a

        • audacityscape

We have Single payer healthcare? Since when, exactly?

      • plebian

The Stock Market rises as the Dollars lowers. We are in for a treat soon…

      • johnnydavis1

Corporate profits (for the big companies) are high because they collude with the government. It’s called socialism. What do you think the “stimulus” was? Why do you think the head of GE is an Obama cabinet member?

      • Wheel

The FED has been pumping $85B a month into the stock market for years. Corporations are hoarding money instead of hiring because they do not know what else B.O. has in store for them.

    • jhaharris

      Amen

  • marc broussard

After careful perusal of this site and the comments made by it’s readers, I have come away very comfortable with my progressive inclinations. At this point in American political maturity there is absolutely no place for the teagagged agenda of the right. Every political logjam is the direct result of their hatred of our half black President. That is their most obvious identity. True bigotry. To minorities and women. What’s with that anyway?

    • Graywolf58

marc broussard keep smoking that pipe. I’m white, indian, and, black mixed and I hate him for his commie nonexistent character. You try to sound educated but can only spout racist epitaphs and try pointing that at those with a differing view point. Nothing more than a mindless parrot crying racist when you have no facts or argument with any substance. You are pathetic and laughable.

      • AlanInSF

You, on the other hand, have an intelligent, substantive argument about why Obama is a Communist. Let’s hear it — was it how he nationalized the means of production, sent his political enemies to labor camps, confiscated the weallth of the bourgeoisie and distributed it to the peasants?

        • ronp12

Marxist is more accurate. Look it up yourself.

    • CuriouslyM

Marc, it makes my heart hurt to see people totally think nothing of the bigotry they display with such arrogance. Some people just love to hate. I feel like I’m back in high school 1964- 68. Where are people learning this hate today?? besides Fox news and fundamentalist churches? I say that as a Christian myself who finds such bigotry shocking and offensive. I never learned to hate from my parents and I don’t watch Fox news 🙂

    • maddog2008

He is so only 1/8 black Marc so stop playing your beloved progressive race card, it just shows your lack of education when it comes to Obama’s family’s background.

    • COB

It is so frustrating to be called racist just because one disagrees with the failed policies of a “black” president. I would support the elections of Ben Carson, Allen West, Condoleeza Rice, JC Watts, Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell, Larry Elder, or Juan Williams. Wanting less government involvement in my life does not make me opposed to blacks; it makes me opposed to the nanny state and entitlement principals of liberals.

      • Jazzidiot

LOL Allen West is a WAR CRIMINAL, who was kicked out of the military! Good choice (because he’s black?).

      • Kosh94

But Owe-bama is only half black. Would he be “Halfrican”?

  • phyllisjmurphy

Huh! Obama the worst thing that ever happened to America..A phony, a travesty that America may never recover from as we go the Roman Empire way of disintegration through corruption and debauchery in every form and complete ignorance of voters who vote like a herd of sheep without ever researching and finding out facts before they vote for any of these pitiful politicians who control American citizens footing all the bills. How can Obama make progress…his only work experience on his resume was a fund raiser for Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn Marxist ACORN group in Chicago that made sure Obama got elected…no American history, no work history, no political history except for his suspect law degree from Columbia and lived in Indonesia until age 15(biggest muslim country in the world) and then lived with wealthy banker white grandparents the Dunham bank board members in Hawaii…Obama not even in America until college and then of course Michelle from Chicago….Sordid and awful…

    • Lauren Hughes

Careful, ms. murphy: your KKK slip is showing!

      • COB

Not one thing Ms. Murphy said is racist. She says nothing about race being the reason for Obama’s history of associating with terrorists, his lack of any real work history, or his long list of lies during his presidency. WHY does racism have to be the reason for anyone being disappointed in Obama? Are you racist for not voting for Romney?

    • AlanInSF

What’s the worst thing that happened to you, personally, as a result of the Obama Presidency, Ms. Murphy?

  • Only Congress can pass a national minimum wage. Obama has already raised the minimum wage to 10.10 where he had the power to do so….Federal contracts.

  • Gerry P Farr

Let us impeach all republicans at the ballot box!

    • Kosh94

Do you even understand what impeachment is or how its done?

  • audacityscape

So republicans block the minimum wage raise and you turn around and blame OBAMA for not making progress on it?

    • opinionated1234

At your age you should not be working at a minimum wage job. Why not use your computer to get a better education?

      • peggy44

Or, “if you don’t have bread eat cake!”

    • COB

Why should a law be passed, so unskilled workers can make more money? If you want more money, get training, experience, or education. Quit trying to equalize everyone.

      • jamit2me

we have mba’s working fast food. are you kidding me.

    • Kosh94

Why pay slacks to stagnate? You get higher wages by improving yourself. Try getting an education.

  • james c

Sounds like we need the 3rd party. Maybe we can balance the morons on the other sides.

  • AlanInSF

So if President Obama is for a good and widely popular policy, like raising the minimum wage, and Republicans are unanimously opposed to it and keep him from enacting it, that means you can’t trust Obama. Sweet!

  • fail

Go back 40-50 years, you would be hard pressed to find Democrats in Hollywood. John Wayne, Fred Astaire, Bing Crosby, Charlton Heston. Sinatra was a Democrat who leaned Republican from the 1970’s.

  • H M

I thought Tony Danza was bi?

  • Mike

Ha, ha… 🙂 Who cares. This GOP is going the way of the GOP in 1932 after bringing us such dunces as The Bushes and the “Great Actor” Reagan who played in ROTC, then when the fighting came in WW-ll was “suddenly” unable to serve because of sight requirements!… 🙁 What happened to sight requirements in able to join ROTC? Oh, did I mention that the GOP brought us only the second Stock Market Crash and Great Depression (1929-Hoover and October 2007- Cheney/Bush) in the past 100 years?

The Middle Class got crushed after the Republican Revolution in 1982 and living standards for the average citizen dropped. The only ones better off during 1982-2009 were the Conservative Ultra Wealthy (CUWs), the very people who bankrupted the Republican Revolution!… 🙁 People will remember just as our grandparents remembered… 1932-1982 was 50 years….. Boy are we not going to miss you sell out’s to the CUWs. Don’t have a nice retirement!… 🙁

    • Kosh94

Re-inventing history? After 4 years of that coward Carter, Reagan/Repubs did lots to improve the economy. I remember! I WAS THERE!

  • nerdygirl111

You commenters think you know everything. It’s ridiculous. All you do is complain and complain but not one of you is willing to do anything about it. Democrat or a Republican, you all point the blame on everyone but your own greedy selves. If you would quit your whining for a minute and bring your ideas together, maybe something would get done in this country. I swear, greed is an epidemic that even intelligence can’t cure.

  • Buzz

It said “WERE” Republicans…..does that mean they are not now? Or should it have been written, “ARE?”

  • William Wayne

Obama is one of our worst presidents of all time.

    • Stephen McDonald

      wow are you clueless…

    • abraham silverstein

      Horrible…

The common thread among these actors is their general repulsiveness and outright stupidity.

  • John Kramer

“Pay no attention to those congressmen behind the curtain!”

  • Brian

Go Obama! You rock! Don’t judge yourself by white, angry, victims that see your failure as their success. Stand for what is right: gay marriage, access to health care for all, and a stable middle class. Has anyone seen the stock market lately? Hmmm…. A little different than when Bush was destroying our country.

    • Kosh94

LOL, so WHY do MORE PEOPLE NOT HAVE INSURANCE NOW than before teh ACA?

  • Mario Leon-Torres

STOP WAISTING OUR MONEY!!!!Vacation after vacation, golf after golf and lots of hollywood party’s..and they want me to pay $300 a month for Obamacare. This people are insane!Michelle and Obama should Live paycheck to paycheck. Drive a 10 year old car, shop at WalMart and pay for medical insurance herself. Live like us Americans do!!!!!!!!!!!! See how regular Americans have to figure out if to get medicine, food, gas for car because you can’t afford to do all in the same paycheck!!!

  • Tabasco531

The best reason of why you can’t trust the Republican Party, because it doesn’t exist!

  • Jazzidiot

“Obama has tolerated the House of Representatives’ extremely slow, piecemeal approach, which undermines confidence.” IOW, the House is keeping IR at a slow pace, to deliberately undermine POTUS’ confidence.

  • Tom D

Republicans in congress wanted no part of any kind of affordable healthcare for Americans. They could have participated in helping to construct the bill, but they voted no everytime. We could have had a medicare for all if they had participated, but they forced Democrats to move without them. What we have now is better than what republicans were happy with before the new law: 50,000 Americans dying every year because they had no healthcare.

    • Wheel

No, no,no,no,no. Republicans were shut out of the entire process. Were you around when the Dems had the House, Senate, and Presidency?

Do you remember these quips: “The election is over John. I won.” “Elections have consequences.” “This is a big F-ing deal!”?

Do you recall Nancy P. walking to the Capitol with her cronies carrying that huge gavel?

  • ChewbaccatheBookie

Stop bickering over ‘parties’ you were never invited to. If you can’t see how biased Fox News is you don’t deserve a keyboard.

    • bicentennialguy

Do you believe MSNBC is biased? How about CNN? How about CBS? How about NBC?

  • Trace Smith

Your right. Marxist would be closer.

  • jameswhite15

What a group! I either haven’t heard of some or they are old has-beens.

  • Portia Hardesty

Almost all of the items you mention are things that Repubs in Congress are refusing to agree to. Tell it like it is — most all of this is the fault of the Repubs in Washington and across our country. If you want something done that will help most the people in the country (O.K. maybe not the very, very rich 1%) vote for Democrats all the way.

  • poppabear42

This is so phony, because I’ve noticed that nearly everything you are gripping about, has to have congressional approval.
And if you are going piss, and moan about what he has not accomplished, you should remember and acknowledge this fact.
This man cannot make this country successful all by himself, that is why there are other branches of government that were created to help the president,.
And it is the job of those elected to those positions, and the reason they were elected to those other branches of government, is to help the president with decision making, instead of trying to do everything they can to do just the opposite. These are crucial government positions that these people were elected to do.
But since 2008 they have acted like a bunch of childish, spoiled brats, just because they cannot have their toys to play with.
Besides being a very dangerous attitude for grown men, and women, it also hurts the people they are supposed to be protecting, and totally unprofessional.
But the worst thing is their reason for doing such a poor job for this country, it is just as obvious as their actions.
It is impossible to hide such sick feelings, and know this…Everybody is not as dumb as they want them to be.

  • Carl Hayse

maas, your headband is way too tight…obama is a liberals liberal and nothing but a liberal… The one and only reason he was elected to a second term is because those who want something for nothing believed him. Now they find out he lied and they’re too stupid to admit their mistake…

  • pepina

I wonder how many people realize that, during Stalin’s reign of terror in the 30’s, the one western
factor that he idolized was ‘Hollywood.’ His goal was to have at least 200 films a year produced and all of them fabricated to glorify the regime. Key words, such as ‘citizen,’ ‘worker,’ ‘good of the party’ were emphasized in
these films. This was a period, in Russian history, when a knock on the door, in the middle of the night, was the result of any casual comment that was construed as being a threat ‘against the worker.’ Not only was the ‘enemy’ carried away to a 24 hour ‘confession,’ ‘trial’ and execution but his family members (over the age of twelve) were also arrested and imprisoned or executed.
Stalin and his cohorts realized that propaganda disguised as entertainment was far more effective than long and boring speeches. This ‘perfect’ society resulted in the party elite living rich and lavish lives while the ‘esteemed
workers’ stood in line for over-priced bread. And this living hell, despite the fact that we have enjoyed a relatively good government for over 200 years, is what so many people now advocate. Incredible.

  • Meli Davis

Lol…most of these things are totally outside the President’s control.

  • Jim N

All these liberals on here complaining about “Big Business” not paying their share. They dont understand even basic economics. Newsflash !! Businesses don’t pay taxes and fees !! The consumer does ! Increase the taxes and fees on business and its passed directly to the consumer through the prices you pay for products and services, thus taking more directly from your pocket. Idealistic fools are voting themselves into poorhouse.

The Federal Government needs to be reduced in size by at least 50%. If its not called out in the US Constitution , then let the states provide it if they choose. Citizens (and illegal aliens) will migrate to the states that best suit their desires.

  • clem238

Obama tried to end tax breaks to companies that outsource OUR freaking jobs, EVERY repuke voted NO. They only care about co’s NOT US.

The President got “Obamacare” a Trillion Dollar Stimulus Package ( “Shovel ready jobs that weren’t so shovel ready!”) and pushed through amnesty for so-called illegal “Dreamers” what are you libs complaining about…..that he hasn’t been able to do enough to destroy the country?

  • ConservatarianJimbo

How can so many people believe such a lying president? He has told lie after lie and they still believe him. Seriously, do Democrats put their party ahead of their country?
